Took the RAADS-R autism test, mostly for lulz.

I wish there were a "sometimes" option, not all-or-nothing, but.

I took that and landed at 124. hmm indeed. (I am formally dx'd ADHD combined type. I do not have and am not pursuing a formal autism diagnosis because frankly I don't want it on my medical chart.)

mine was:
language - 11
social relatedness - 40
sensory/motor - 46
circumscribed interests - 27

But it's hard to judge some of it because my memory is for shit these days and I don't remember all the details of why I was so socially awkward as a kid, just that I was. Still, I'm pretty sure I'm AuDHD at this point.

brains are weird aren't they?

It was really important to me to get the formal ADHD diagnosis, in part because I wanted meds and in part because I wanted concrete evidence I actually had it. My old psych didn't want to prescribe meds for it due to a variety of reasons but encouraged me to find a second opinion, so I did that and then that doc wanted me to do neuropsych testing to confirm I had ADHD because I'm also bipolar type 2 and it gets weird with the overlap. So I did that and the neuropsych was like "yeah, you definitely have ADHD combined type" and i cried in my car after getting the diagnosis because it was just so validating.

Actually getting meds took more work but I'm on them now. Mind, I'm on one I have to pay $75 a month for bc it's a brand name and my insurance won't cover it and the $75 is the manufacturer's coupon, but at least the pharmacy can get it in stock. As opposed to Adderall, which my insurrance covered but every pharmacy in the area was like "uh we dunno when we'll ever get it"

It is often stated that wanting to fix the test is worth an additional ten points on the test.

Considering I have an actual diagnosis of autism, I'm not remotely shocked, but still. Oof. That's a high number.
