~There goes the baker with his tray like always
The same old bread and rolls to sell
Every morning just the same
Since the morning that we came~
Me: now if she were autistic, the next line would have been "thank fuck for some routine"...
Plot bunny, sidling up to me: ok but what about autistic Beast, and the enchantment -- either punishment or an attempt at being helpful -- imposed "always the same" on the castle/surrounding and occupants? That's why the staff became animate objects, so they wouldn't age, and a side effect was everyone in the village getting a) stuck in a repeating loop, and b) getting magical amnesia about the existence of the castle so they wouldn't do surprises visits? And Belle and her father moving in was the start to breaking the spell, since it necessarily forced something new?
