I am ignoring the fact that a very nice person was offering free ferry to docks, which means I now have access to max armor. 175 tanned hide + 28 steel + 4k = do not have. (Well, technically, I have almost 4k now, but only 18 hide and 1 steel and anyway armor priorities are kind of my established characters.)

Necro armors I could plausibly tolerate:
- Krytan (could even manage with lots of farming instead of crafting) - 175 chitin 28 leather 4k
- Fanatic - 175 tanned hide 28 leather 4k
in either case, headgear - 25 parchment 4 feather 800g
(I am not even looking at the elite versions augh. ;_;)
Warrior armors ditto:
- Gladiator - 200 iron 128 tanned hide 5k
- Templar - 200 iron 4 steel 28 leather 5k

- Krytan (again, collector) - 175 cloth 28 silk 4k
- Flameforged - 175 cloth 28 scale 4k
- Canthan - 175 cloth 28 silk 4k

So, okay. Have 70 cloth, 18 tanned hide, 7 iron, 2 silk. Current prices, silk is 110, steel 180, tempered glass vial 200, leather 200, parchment 150; iron is 260 for 10, tanned hide 130 for 10, scales 230 for 10, chitin 100 for 10, cloth 130 for 10, dust 190 for 10, feathers 390 for 10. This means that, if I were to buy all the mats, my options are:
- Necro Krytan, collectors version: 0g, shittons of farming, no insignias IIRC
- Necro Krytan, crafted version: 1800 + 5600 + 4k = 11,400
- Necro Fanatic: 2340 + 5600 + 4k = 11,940
- Necro headgear: 3750 + 390 + 800 = 4,940
- Warrior Gladiator - 5200 + 1690 + 5k = 11,890
- Templar - 5200 + 720 + 5600 + 5k = 16,520 ahahahahano.
- Ele Krytan, collectors version: 0g, shittons of farming
- Ele Krytan, crafted version: 2340 + 3080 + 4k = 9,420
- Ele Flameforged: 2340 + 690 + 4k = 7,030
- Ele Canthan: 2340 + 3080 + 4k = 9,420
- Ele Canthan headgear: 570 + 800 + 1k = 2,370
So if I've done my math right, which I may not have, the cheapest way to get on my feet with normal characters (instead of baby dervishes) would be Shiara, with flameforged armor, for 9400 gold.
...also, if I log in to an account that has access to the materials pane -- and yes, all my ecto/shards/etc are long gone -- I have (among other things) 250 more cloth, 15 dust, 83 silk. Which makes the ele thing easier: for any of the three, I just need 10 dust and the glass vials, or 1,990.
Which is, I might add, a bit vexing since of the three, the ele's the lowest priority. Oh well?
ETA: Kama is awesomesauce. My ele and necro are now clothed (albeit sans runes etc), and I have almost enough for my warrior to get beclothed (ditto). Though, uh, the weapon my ele has equipped? Thunderfist's Brass Knuckles. *facepalm*
(and no, I am not abandoning WoW. We are just ... having relationship issues. Plus, getting back into GW gives me something to due on Tuesday mornings...)
