Right now, when I try to sink my iPad, iTunes a) freezes up for long stretches, b) errors out with "Required file cannot be found", c) errors out with "Unable to load data class information from sync services", or d) all of the above.
I tried unplugging the iPad and plugging it back in. No help.
Turned off WiFi sync option. No help.
Did the unpugging/replugging thing. No help.
Deleted the photo cache information, which the allknowing google said might help. No help.
I tried reinstalling iTunes. No help.
I tried flinging virtual sporks at it. No effect.
I tried glaring at it. See above.
It isn't just the iPad, though: if I try to load preferences for iTunes, it freezes up for five minutes before grudgingly giving me the preferences window.
I am thiiis close to either crying, or screaming, or both.
WHY SO HARD, TECHYBITS?

Date: 2011-10-30 04:21 am (UTC)Stanza has been orphaned by its new owner, Amazon. It's a known buggy-crashy-let's-make-you-cry & scream utility, and that's all, right now.
I'm trying out a bunch of other readers — they're all free.
iBooks can handle ePubs, so that's one way to go — you have to use the clunky "Books" subpane when you select Apps in the left directory to add or subtract any file for iBooks or Music (audiobooks).
I am blissfully happy to use Instapaper for all my HTML-based reading.
Best wishes!
Also the latest iterations of Safari can turn into monster memory mashers, which yields the spin-pizza-of-death. At that point one can still save a window full of tabs in a folder, and then force quit out and restart.

Date: 2011-10-30 09:14 pm (UTC)Have never had the pleasure to reset an iPad, but on my iPod touch it's hold down the home button for ten seconds. Let it be unpowered for a kitten fight, then sync again and try to remove Stanza.
Or take it to the Apple Store and wear your sad face :(
