Jan. 10th, 2014 09:48 pmHaving played more of T2, my current evaluation is "what I wanted diablo iii to be". Plus, you know, fishing. And pets. Who can run to town to sell stuff for you. And also look cute.
Don't know how long I will be able to keep playing at the rate I did today, because it is intensely mouse-based (keyboard used mainly for potion hotkeys) and my wrist doesn't like that very much.

Been watching Orange is the New Black, but I've hit an embarrassment squick wall. Not unexpected given the power dynamics of prison, but there is a part of me that doesn't want to watch the next episode because of fallout. The inmates were running elections for a sort of prison council, ostensibly to provide feedback to those in charge about how things are and how they should be, or something; the warden arranging it all ignored one sector of votes in order to add his personal preference, a main character who a) had not run for the position, b) had directly declined the warden's suggestion that she should run, and c) was trying to keep her head down in terms of prison politics. The episode ended on the announcement of elected (and "elected") names.
I don't know why this bothers me more than the "Harry gets selected for the Triwizard Tournament" bit in GoF, which bears a lot of similarity (person in authority abuses his position to get his desired candidate chosen) but didn't trigger my embarrassment squick anywhere near as badly. But it does. And while the imdb ep summaries don't feature it as a major issue in subsequent episodes, that doesn't mean it isn't there.
Sigh.

Chorus is doing Mozart Requiem this quarter. Proper version, too (the Süssmayr version that I am most used to, rather than the Levin version we sang last time, and there's at least one more version out there if not more). I am very happy.
