So I have multiple medications, which, for various reasons, have different refill schedules. So two of them are getting close to empty, and I call the pharmacy, and do their automated phone refill request thing; and one of them goes through fine, but the other one triggers a "We're sorry, but it's too soon to refill this prescription based on the frequency and dosage assigned by your physician," or something along those lines.

Which made me go wtf, because I have five pills left, of a twice-a-day pill. Two and a half days.

So I look at the prescription to make sure I wasn't, like, mistaking a once-a-day pill for a twice-a-day; but no, it says twice a day, it says Qty: 60, etc.

So I look at the date filled: 9/10/09.

Something is very very wrong here.

I mean, yes, I filled it then, and that explains the too-soon message; but that means they didn't give me anywhere near the amount they were supposed to.

*snarls*

I am not very good at confrontations. Plus there's the thing where they only have my word for it -- if their system says they gave me 60 on the 10th, I'm probably screwed. It's not, afaik, a high-value drug (it's not like I'm trying this with oxycontin or something), but still, they don't know that I'm not hiding the rest of it somewhere.

Gah. I did not need this.

*offers hugs* Pharmacies suck.

Mine has:

(a) called me personally and offered to refill my meds, which was great except they refilled them all too soon and the insurance wouldn't pay for another two weeks, and then the automated system called me every three days for the two weeks to remind me it was filled.

(b) given me half the amount, told me they owed me more, and denied that they had any more for me when I came back. That was fun.

(c) had to order the meds just for me but somehow failed to order enough to cover my prescription, and had to order them again the next day. (WTF?)

I vote getting someone else to confront them for you. :) Or calling your doctor, who can probably up your prescription in such a way that they can give you more.

As you probably know, I work in a pharmacy, and I feel so bad for customers that have to hoof it all the way back up to my pharmacy to have these sorts of conversations. Even when they go 100% pleasantly they still aren't easy.

How'd it turn out?
