ysobelMy F'moon shaman hit 80 yesterday -- just in time for the guild's weekly raid thing! And yes, I really did take her. I'm not convinced that I was actually useful at all, given that it was a baby 80, with no practice raid-healing, in ToGC10 and Uld10; but I did get some awesome gear out of Ulduar. (The guild is, shall we say, not shaman-heavy, and there isn't much non-shaman use for spellcaster mail.)
Did I mention that I was taking her as resto, when I have no practice healing (my other 80 is a rogue, and aside from smart-ass comments about bandage-spec or roguetank, there isn't a whole lot that rogues can do other than dps), and no useful addons? Plus, I leveled as enh, and was used to Maelstrom Weapon and its instaheal effect. With normal cast times, I suspect I did a lot more overhealing than anything else, given the other healers doing the healing thing.
I also kept forgetting to use heroism. Oops?
... I really need to do some work to get her ready for raid. Like, for one thing, download and figure out grid or something similar; and for another, set up macros (so that, eg, I can heal target or targetoftarget or focus or mouseover). And for a third, stop panicking, since I'm sure I CAN learn this...

And you can totally learn it! Resto shamans are pretty awesome. :)
